How to comply with the Food Information Regulations (FIR) 2014
December 2014 is when the Regulations (FIR) came into force - it's all about having allergen controls in the business and the communication of allergen information to consumers.
We can provide businesses with our popular half day Food Allergen training session, to help you and your staff understand how to comply with the FIR Regulations.
We love learning and helping others to improve workplace standards in Food Safety and Health & Safety. We have worked in the Food Industry and in Local Authority Enforcement and understand the real difficulties faced by businesses, especially in the current climate.
We stand for value for money, quality and fun and have a sense of reality and an eye for detail. We strive to achieve this by constantly improving the content of our courses, delivery methods and presentation skills through regular research, feedback and evaluation. You can be assured that when we carry out an audit for you we will tell you as it is and work with you to improve any areas requiring attention.
We are passionate about Food Safety and Health & Safety. We aim to be the most helpful, professional and proactive to each of our valued customers. Our primary goal is to support our clients to remain safe and legal. You ask and we’ll deliver.
The Team...
Jim began his career as a baker and has over the years worked in various managerial and account management posts in food manufacturing and the retail sector, including M&S, Rank Hovis McDougall and British Fermentation Products, as well as in Environmental Health Enforcement. He has a first class honours degree in Industrial Food Technology and is passionate about continued learning and the importance of having high standards of safety. In 2003 Jim established Kings Safety Training with partner Alison King in response to the demand for high quality advice and training in the area. Since then the business has grown to provide compliance support across the UK hospitality, manufacturing and retail sectors.
Alison worked for many years in the food industry after graduating with a first class honours degree in Industrial Food Technology. Her main career was with Northern Foods primarily as a production manager in high risk food manufacture at various sites and then as factory production planner. Her responsibilities along the way also included hygiene management staff training and operational efficiency. After establishing Kings Safety Training with husband and partner Jim, Alison provides Food Safety training and advice as well as office support for the business. Maintaining high standards of training, support and customer care is core to Kings Safety values.
